KIN. COACH RYAN
Ryan’s introduction to physical activity began early, playing soccer from age 6 to 16. Along the way he discovered a love and talent for middle-distance running, which led to a full commitment to track and field for the rest of high school. Ryan went on to compete for the UBC Track and Field team while completing his Bachelor of Kinesiology.
During his studies, Ryan found a strong passion for helping others succeed through movement. He began coaching high school track and field athletes across sprint and middle-distance disciplines, and worked as an undergraduate assistant in the UBC Varsity Gym, where he learned the detailed and nuanced world of strength and conditioning. After graduating, Ryan earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification, and he plans to become a physiotherapist in the future. Ryan takes pride in drawing on this range of experience to guide others to success through movement.
Ryan has since fallen in love with challenging himself in nature through multi-day treks, steep summit hikes, and diving, and it’s also where he feels most at peace. Outside the studio, you’ll often find him in his hammock at the beach or running through Pacific Spirit Park.
