Aimee's Story - Being a Badass Mom

Mastering step-ups.

Mastering step-ups.

Training Aimee has truly been a great pleasure. When we first had our introduction session, she mentioned she had some insecurities surrounding her movement capabilities and strength.

During that session, we did a quick assessment and I realized that her movement patterns were quite good actually. Her progress was going to be just a matter of putting hard work in and being consistent with it.

Well, to put it simply, she did. We started seeing each other twice a week and every time she came she gave it her all. This included not only her great energy but also a deep curiosity to learn about why she was doing the movements I was facilitating.

This was all done with her also managing her life as a mom and wife. There were often days where she didn’t get much sleep and even then she would work just as hard. It was truly inspiring to watch.

In the span of two months, she got her first knee push-up, completed 34 step-ups with a 20 lb backpack in two minutes, and is now even doing deadlifts with 30-pound dumbbells. What’s even more impressive is her own empowerment. She has taken the concepts that I’ve taught her and has used them to address little pains. She doesn’t have to directly ask me.

She has inspired me to work as hard as she does. She is truly an example of what it means to be a Restorer

Aimee Writes:

Deep recovery breath work.

Deep recovery breath work.

If I could sum up my experience in one word, I’d use empowering. Coach Gabo is not intimidating or regimented, he is compassionate and listens to what I say about my body. I feel supported and empowered to provide my body with the nutritious movement it deserves and this is all down to his amazing capabilities as a coach. We also have a laugh along the way, which is important.

After training with Coach Gabo I feel more confident in my body’s capabilities, I am less tired and I am getting stronger.

My restore human “moment” is being able to hone in on a stiff joint on muscle and do some mobilization or taking a moment out of the day for 6 mindful and deep breaths - both things I have learned from my wonderful coach!

Thank you Restore Human for bringing me along the path of being a harder to kill human, most importantly I will soon be able to beat my husband at arm wrestling - my ultimate goal!
